i have recently been blessed with my wife (currently df'd jw) starting to look into some things, and she's read the book "questions for jehovah's witnesses" by the cetners.
she still feels she needs to see something she feels is more reliable for dates such as the 1925 patriarchs, etc, and when i was doing research, i noticed the best quotes to show seem to be from books such as the millions now living will never die and the way to paradise, but they're really old, and i couldn't find any available on e-bay or as reprints on cds on my search.
does anybody know a way to get ahold of these books?

I totally appreciate your response and concern. In some ways, you are right about the situation in that she has had some other issues in her life that have deeply affected her. But the WT also has been a huge part of her life up until just recently (and we even went to the Memorial this year) when she got DF'd. Basically, she gets in depressed states dwelling on what others in the cong such as elders have said or what they might think, such as feeling she's no good, and that seems to translate into her feeling God not forgiving her or something along those lines. The WT is a big influence on her depressive states, such as when she sees a JW she knows or hears preaching of about any kind, making her feel she's not a good enough person, doing God's will, etc...
I believe you have some good advice there, but I also feel the only way I've been able to get her to think in a way that gives her hope that just because she's been DF'd doesn't equate to her being hated by God and unforgiven, etc. is by trying to show where the WT is far from perfect and not in a place to make harsh judgements on people that affect them to the point where they lose the ability to talk to their own family (such as my wife's situation) and friends, etc.. But I do try to think along the lines you presented as well, trying to be careful not to push my own views on someone else but rather hopefully just present another side to look into that may help.

Thanks for the reply~! I totally undestand and agree with what you said. My wife and I get along great; I'm just more concerned for her depressive states that are brought about by deep feelings of guilt over not being able to live perfectly by the WT rules as well as with her anger for things going certain ways, etc., and I feel that if I can demonstrate the WT is not actually really in the truth about a great many things that I'll be able to convince her she can have her own personal relationship with God and be a part or not be a part of any organization she chooses -- FREEDOM~! Freedom from guilt based on pleasing others with one's own outward acts and appearance and many more things... you know~!

Most witnesses blindly follow the dictates of the society. ANy one who points out errors is an apostate and should be iggnored. People with an open mind do not need it "proved" as all they have to do is read it for themselves and they''' recognize it for what it is.
True; I could see wanting to be sure sources I was shown that what I believe in was wrong were definitely legit, but at the same time, it's easy to see that book publishers wouldn't be able to get away with falsely attributing quotes to the WT or with distorting the quotes, regardless of their commentaries relating to the quotes or possibly only showing partial quotes.

For example the "gegeration" was not done away with in 1995 it was modified as they explored the different usages of the word generation in the Bible
It's sad to think how many ways the WT leaders could sit and rearrange passages in ways that could support anything they desire. I could make my own religion copying and pasting bits and pieces of the scattered verses, like taking clay and forming either a pot, a vase, a cup, a rod, etc... Easy to do when things aren't left in context and with CLEAR understanding.
That's why I don't get how JW's generally believe each and every word that's typed in the WT mags and feel they have to obey it as if it is God Himself speaking, even after the WT has been constantly changing/creating doctrines to cover for previous error-ridden ones since the beginning and likely find every meaning possible to support in a verse except for the possibly correct one(s) that would put an end to the cycle of false inspiration.
